People who have naturally curly hair generally face a lot of issues while selecting the right products for their hair. They usually choose the wrong products first before finally finding the right ones ideal for their hair type. This trial-and-error method is not good for your hair. However, hair care experts such as Merian Odesho have eliminated such issues since the launch of her company Bounce Curl. Bounce Curl develops cruelty-free products made with natural ingredients in order to make your hair healthy and style those curls. She is also the CEO and formulator of Bounce Curl.
Throughout her life, Merian has struggled to find products that worked for her fine, curly hair type as the majority of the products available in the market were too heavy or contained harmful ingredients. She originally went to school to become a dentist, and through the process realized that she was capable of formulating cosmetic products using her background in chemistry and science. With this in mind, she began creating all different formulas and testing them on herself and her best friend. The teamwork made the dream come true and they finally came up with the perfect composition for their first products and Bounce Curl was born this way!
Inspired by her grandmother, who played a major role in developing her hair care routines by mixing up special formulas using only homemade, natural ingredients, Merian saw in her adult life that there still is very much a need for these kinds of natural products to be introduced in the market as people have started relying on quick chemically resolution which damage the hair to the core. She used her degree rooted in chemistry and science to create “safe beauty” products and used her established social networks to fuel the take-off of Bounce Curl, a cruelty-free, vegan, colour-safe beauty product line specifically tailor-made for curly-haired type.
As the founder and formulator of Bounce Curl, Merian is well aware of the unreal beauty standards set by society for women and is doing her bit to challenge them. She balances the demands of being an entrepreneur with quite an ease and has a bit of strong advice on salary negotiations that consist of “quarterly report cards.”
